I saw you from a distance eBook Alexander Desmarais
Alexander Desmarais, "I Saw You, from a Distance," reveals the fact that "innocence is a rarity." I say this because, it is quickly and easily corrupted and lost forever. We as adults fail to preserve this invaluable God blessed creation. The old saying, "Children should be seen and not heard," has always been an old adage that I find disturbing and have a great dislike for. It should be stricken from anyone's vocabulary. Children should be seen as well as heard. Their cries and whispers should be heard.
As a mother of an autistic/nonverbal child, it is disheartening to me how the world ignores the pain and suffering of children who need our help out of the darkness. Here in the U.S. we have the "No Child Left Behind Act," which is not a far reaching enough concept. In some aspects it's a cruel joke.
There are children in my own community who are being murdered in cold-blood by their parents. It has become commonplace. There are other communities as well where this has become commonplace. There are people who want to live in a fictional, a virtual reality world and feel like reality is too much to take.
But, the children are suffering because no one listens, or cares enough to save them. I never want what happened to me as a child to happen to my eight year old son. Children should not have to live with abuse of any kind, neglect, starvation. We should always preserve our children's innocence, cultivate it and nurture it.

I saw you from a distance eBook Alexander Desmarais Reviews
This book is written well. The vulnerability that the author engages the reader with is very raw, but he communicates his story effectively. I appreciated the insights that Alexander has on life through the foster care system. It was a challenging, but a good read.
This is a good real life story about how our kids are treated when they are stuck in a flawed system. More people have to realize how much damage occurs behind closed doors in foster and adored homes that don't care about anything but money and power over others
A bit short, and a few errors, but the content is impressive.
I read the entire thing straight through, and i must say, if i had half as much trouble reading this heartbreaking story as the author did writing it, then they must be pretty tough.
